Lucas van Schaardenburg [labelled as Schaar Sartor] is an interdisciplinary designer and fashion photographer dedicated to crafting systematic transformation within the fashion industry through grassroots activation. Their apparel utilises circular methodology, slow consumption and designing for longevity. These circular design practices are adapted to witty and queer reimaginings of historical attire that portray subversive commentaries challenging conventional fashion consumption and fast fashion production. These narratives illustrate how revolutionary pursuits can honour heritage while embracing radical identity. Schaar Sartor is based between Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa and Manchester, UK.

Lucas’s runway collection will be presented as part of Te Wiki Āhua O Aotearoa FW25 ‘Out of Service’ showing on March 24th 7:30pm Get tickets
